The sun will come out... tomorrow!

Greeting Garden Fans!

As the old saying goes; "If you don't like the weather in Maine, just wait a minute". Or my favorite; ' My three favorite things about Maine is July, August and September".   So, this (weather) shall too pass and it's off to the races!  Looks like a great weekend for a barbeque!

And here in The Garden of Eatin', we are ready with lots of fresh products for you!  Today, of course, is Fresh Fish Friday and we have haddock at $5.99 a pound and wild salmon.  To go along with the fish we have a great selection of fresh herbs that include thyme, dill, rosemary, sage, basil and stevia, all grown in my greenhouse in Dresden.  We also have rhubarb, from Bowdionham and Locally Known's herb salad mix and baby spinach greens.  From Wagonwheel Farm we will large leaf spinach and another salad mix, tomorrow.  Starting June 20th we will have fresh strawberries from Fairwinds Farm, also in Bowdionham.   Just like spring and watching the various trees and flowers come to life, it is a joy to return to our local farms for the bounty of our local farmlands.

Jen has made some phenominal strawberry rhubarb pies as well all lots of other fruit pies.  She has made quite a bit of stock for our deli department.  I had one customer ask me to order her an apple pie from our pie vendor and she was amazed ot hear that we make all of our pies in house and use as much of our own prioduce for the filling as possible!

We will have plenty of cheese in stock this weekend as well as a host of other great items.  The cooler is getting more and more packed day by day, with some really great fruit and veggies.

Outside in the plant department, we have refreshed the display, this afternoon and have several new items including pickling cukes and patio tomatoes in large pots.  They are perfect to grow right on your deck or patio.

All in all, The Garden of Eatin' is well stocked for the weekend with ALL KINDS of goodies. A little something for everyone!

As always, I look forward to seeing you in The Garden!
